PM Modi Tops Global Approval Ratings, Emerges as World’s Most Trusted Leader

Bengaluru I July 28 :

In a resounding endorsement of his leadership on the global stage, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the most trusted world leader, according to the July 2025 Morning Consult Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker. Modi secured a remarkable 75% approval rating, significantly ahead of other world leaders, further solidifying India’s growing influence in global affairs.

The survey spans major democracies and tracks public opinion on their respective national leaders. Coming in second is South Korean President Lee Jae-myung with a 59% approval rating, followed by Argentina’s Javier Milei at 57%. Leaders of Canada (Mark Carney – 56%), Australia (Anthony Albanese – 54%), and Mexico (Claudia Sheinbaum – 53%) followed suit, all trailing India’s prime minister by a substantial margin.

Notably, leaders of major Western powers such as U.S. President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz registered significantly lower ratings, with approval scores of 44% and 34% respectively.

The report is widely seen as a reflection of India’s assertive diplomacy, strategic leadership, and growing relevance in international affairs under Modi’s leadership. As the only leader with a three-fourths approval rating, Modi’s standing highlights not just domestic confidence but his expanding global appeal.

The Morning Consult tracker, which continuously evaluates the approval ratings of political leaders from over 20 countries, is considered a key barometer of public trust and leadership perception worldwide.
