New Delhi, June 5, 2025 — The tragic stampede near Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium that claimed eleven lives has triggered a political storm, with Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy raising sharp questions over the state government’s handling of the RCB victory celebrations.
In a late-night press conference, the former Karnataka Chief Minister expressed concern over the sequence of events that led to the incident and urged accountability at the highest level.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, meanwhile, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of young lives and stated that he would respond to the opposition’s allegations at an appropriate time.
