Amazon has officially started its journey into space internet! On April 29, 2025, an Atlas V rocket launched 27 of Amazon’s new Kuiper-1 satellites into low-Earth orbit from Cape Canaveral, Florida. This launch was delayed earlier because of bad weather but finally lifted off successfully.

The satellites are part of Amazon’s Project Kuiper, which plans to build a network of 3,236 satellites to bring fast, reliable internet to people around the world, especially in remote areas. Amazon is said to have partnered with several rocket companies, including ULA, SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Arianespace, booking over 80 launches to complete the project.

This launch follows two test satellites that Amazon sent into space in 2023. Now, they are moving into full deployment. Project Kuiper will compete with others, wh0 already have thousands of satellites in orbit. Amazon’s goal is to make internet access better and available everywhere.
